Admissions Policy and Philosophy
East Texas Barber School admits as regular students, persons who are at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate.
East Texas Barber School practices no discrimination in its admission and graduation policies on the basis of race, creed, religion, sex, financial status, or country/area of origin or residence.
East Texas Barber School complies with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) in that no qualified, handicapped person, by reason of the handicap, will be excluded from enrolling in a course of instruction, though manual dexterity is required in the field of barber/hairstyling.
Philosophy and Purpose
The purpose upon which East Texas Barber School was founded was to provide quality education and training in the selected course for East Texas area residents. The course(s) selected in which to offer instruction all relate to the Barber-Styling Career and the School strives to:
A. Educate all students in men's and women's haircutting, styling, chemical services, and proper skin care.
B. Teach all students to master the required procedures to pass the State Barber Examination and obtain a license.
C. Provide the impetus for life-long motivation for success by understanding the unique opportunities for entrepreneurship in the Barber Styling profession.
